A bit (lot) of a way to go in layering but these works and one other are getting ready for framing to head off to the Affordable Art Fair, June 15th – 18th at the Royal Randwick Racecourse in the NEAP ( National Emerging Art Prize ) Michael Reid exhibition space.

Very delighted to be one of 10 past finalists to contribute this year.

This body of work started off as CBD : Cast and Carved and has developed as glimpses of the Sydney Botanical Gardens and surrounds by way of public sculptures and architectural embellishments. I enjoyed the way the Neoclassical and Art Deco references have become part of our now familiar Sydney iconography and how some of these less prominent ( and non male military ) forms generate their own narratives.
