A detail from one of the 22 works I’m exhibiting in the Botanic Gardens as part of
“Shrine II ” in this years “Artisans in the Garden ” exhibition.
Each of the works are studies of creatures in their Sydney habitats as revealed by the archival maps they are painted on. The maps are very old, lightly gessoed and the creatures are built up in gouache paint.
The exhibition opens this Saturday 19th October in the Lion Gate Lodge in the Botanic Gardens in Sydney.
